Shannon Lofdahl, President & CEO


As the CEO and President of Travelex Insurance Services, Shannon is an experienced and tenured executive with a history of leadership within the travel insurance industry and a reputation for award-winning operational results for more than 25 years. She has thrived in diverse leadership roles during her career, ensuring authenticity is her cornerstone.

What Shannon enjoys most about Travelex is coaching and developing herself and her teams by using the Clifton Strengths framework. She has served for six years on the Board of Directors of the US Travel Insurance Association (UStiA). Outside of work, her passion is interior decorating, and she is also a proud member of PFLAG.


Thomas Scholting, Senior Vice President of Finance

Thomas Scholting, Senior Vice President of Finance


Thomas is Senior Vice President of Finance for Travelex and leads a team responsible for the organization's strategic financial planning, optimization, reporting, and monitoring. In his role, he collaborates with the executive management team, enhancing the capabilities and improving the performance of the financial function to help support and drive the business.

Thomas joined Travelex in 2008. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance/banking from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a master’s degree in finance and international management from Bellevue University.

In his spare time, Thomas enjoys travelling with his family to support his two daughters in regional and national baton competitions and pageants.


Christine Buggy, Vice President of Marketing

Brooke Kirby, Vice President of Marketing


Brooke is Vice President of Marketing for Travelex and leads the team responsible for brand management, as well as the development and execution of marketing strategies for indirect marketing channels. In her role, she finds it extremely motivating to collaborate with our marketing teams, partners, and colleagues to discover new and creative ways to grow our business and create memorable experiences for Travelex partners and customers.

Brooke joined Travelex in 2022. She brings a wide array of marketing, customer relations, and product management experience, and she spent the last 14 years leading companywide initiatives at respective Fortune 500 and leading precision medicine companies.

As a self-proclaimed travel enthusiast, Brooke enjoys creating lasting memories exploring the world with her husband and two young children.


Steve Franzen, Vice President of IT

Steve Franzen, Vice President of Information Technology


Steve became the Vice President of Information Technology in March 2019. At Travelex, Steve oversees all enterprise IT services in support of the organization's mission and strategic plan. He has more than 25 years of experience in the field of information technology. Steve's vision of technological innovation has transformed the organization into a model 21st-century environment that is secure and sustainable.  

Steve's greatest strengths are his innovation and strategic leadership. He thrives on challenges, particularly those that enable our customers and partners.

When not busy at work, Steve enjoys spending time with his family and giving back to his community.



Mary Jo Gray, Vice President of Human Resources

Mary Jo Gray, Vice President of Human Resources

Mary Jo joined Travelex in 1996. As Vice President of Human Resources, she is responsible for recruitment and staffing, performance management, employee relations, HR compliance, and compensation and benefits.

Building an exceptional workplace starts with our people. Mary Jo is passionate about fostering a culture centered around our core values coupled with a strong focus on well-being. Outside of work, Mary Jo enjoys walking, gardening, and spending quality time with family and grandkids.

Kimberly O'Donovan, Vice President of Operations

Kimberly O'Donovan, Vice President of Operations

Kimberly O’Donovan is Vice President of Operations at Travelex and brings 25 years of global experience to our team, which she joined in 2022. Kimberly leads the Customer Solutions team responsible for supporting and servicing our travelers and partner agents. In addition, her team supports several company-wide customer-facing initiatives.

Kimberly has managed teams in EMEA, Central and North America, and APAC for some of the world’s largest companies. She has a passion for exceeding customer expectations, possesses a strong bias for action, values thinking outside the box, and enjoys hiring and developing talent. She is proud to be known as an inspirational leader who delivers results.  

Kimberly holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Russian language from the University of Iowa and is happy to be back in the Midwest with her family after living in Ireland, Costa Rica, and locations from the East Coast to West Coast in the United States.  

Kimberly likes to spend her free time traveling, cooking, reading, and going on various adventures with her family.
